About Me
One of the first things that I have people do when they make their way into my counseling office for the first time is to tell me about themselves. It feels only right to pay you the same courtesy here. I am a passionate Jesus follower, professional counselor, wife, and Young Life leader. My husband and I live out in the country in Bellville, Texas, where we have two cats and one dog. I love to garden, read, and walk.
For as long as I can remember I have wanted to help people, which led me to pursue counseling as a career. I majored in Psychology at Texas A&M, and as I continued to grow in my faith in college, I recognized that the only way to make a lasting impact in people’s lives was through the grace of Jesus Christ. Seeking a way to integrate my faith into my future counseling practice, I attended Dallas Theological Seminary for their Masters in Biblical Counseling. There I learned a myriad about mental and emotional health, how to be as a person and a counselor, as well as the Bible and theology. I am passionate about how all of these areas work together, and hope to embody that both in my counseling office and in my writing.
